    We have closely examined this watch and everything about it is genuine Omega. However, the caseback appears to be from the late 80s, but the Caliber 1143 was introduced in the late 90s. If we had to guess, the original movement needed a repair, but it was more cost-effective to just install a new movement. Since the original 1140 was out of production (and not as good), the more modern 1143 caliber was installed. -Cory
